The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Kevin Healy, rider of Blue Reed (FR), trained by Cian Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount finished lame in front.

P.K. Donovan, rider of Installment, trained by W.J.Lanigan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped very quickly with a circuit to go.

D.E. Mullins, rider of Crypto Crash (GB), trained by David Kenneth Budds, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled and pulled up early.

The Raceday Stewards informed David Kenneth Budds, trainer of Crypto Crash (GB), that a repeat performance of his charge, who was unruly on the way to post, bucked erratically once the flag was dropped and pulled up before the first bend, may render the animal liable for suspension in future.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend into the home straight involving Blue Reed (FR), ridden by Kevin Healy, Glin Road Boy, ridden by P. Byrnes, Kazbek, ridden by Sam Ewing, Chemdawg, ridden by P.T. Enright, and Room For One More, ridden by B. Hayes where it appeared several horses made contact. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Kevin Healy said he had to switch out when on the heels of the horse in front of him. P. Byrnes said he kept his line all the way around the bend. Sam Ewing said he was outside the incident and didn't contribute to it. P.T. Enright said his horse was tiring and he tried to keep him straight as to other horses were passing him out. B. Hayes said he took a pull and had to switch in to avoid being on heels. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Crypto Crash (GB), trained by David Kenneth Budds, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed T. Joseph Kelly, rider of Millstream Lady, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he had used his whip excessively. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied the rider was in breach of R10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record, they suspended him for three racedays.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed E. Finegan, rider of Cooladdi, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he had used his whip with his arm above shoulder height. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied the rider was in breach of R10.3(h)(arm above shoulder) and having considered his record (second offence), they suspended him for four racedays.

P. Townend, rider of Funiculi Funicula (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel and was pulled up. The IHRB Veterinary Officer confirmed that Funiculi Finicula had blood at both nostrils post race.

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Nowwhatdoyouthink, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Nowwhatdoyouthink, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from W.P. Mullins, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Ballygunner Castle, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge got caught wide early on in his last run and had a much cleaner run around today. He added the made some alterations to the horses bridle today and that may also have helped. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted its contents.

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Emily Love, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

Mr A. Burke-Ott, rider of Macoo, trained by Paul O'Flynn, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped on the run to the first bend causing him to shift right momentarily causing some interference to the horses outside him. Having reviewed the video evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

Mr J.L. Gleeson, rider of Justice Hall, trained by John Queally, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

Mr D. Doyle, rider of Through The Storm, trained by David Harry Kelly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

The following Raceday Stewards acted on behalf of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board at this race meeting: Mr. C. O'Mahony (Chairman), Mr. P. Dowling, Mr. B. Murphy, Ms. C. Scanlon, Mr. L. Walsh.

For this race meeting, the Raceday Stewards suspended the ‘Starting Procedures for Tape Starts’, and the IHRB suspended Rule 208 (i) and Rule 209 (i).
